a proper noun starts with a capital letter. For example Canada, Europe, America, Australia.
When you write a capital letter in a sentence, you should write 'is' instead of 'are'.
such as :
-Colombia is(o)
-Iran is(o)
-China is(o)
-Norway are(x)
Even though you use 'is' instead of 'are', you can't write 'a' in front of a proper noun.
ex) A Egypt is(x) / Egypt is(o)
A Russia is(x) / Russia is(o)
A Greenland is(x) / Greenland is(o)
A Indonesia is(x) / Indonesia is(o)
Subscribers[maybe you] : What about a plural noun?
-Storycups[me] : No, you can't write '-s,-es' behind a proper noun.
Subscribers[maybe you] : Hey, What about your name? I can see '-s' at the end of your name.
-Storycups[me] : Oh~ you're right. Let me explain it.
If Storycups means 'a storycup + a storycup + a storycup + ....' , you should write a verb 'mean' instead of 'means'.
However, Storycups is just my name(a proper noun); Storycups ≠ a storycup + a storycup + a storycup +...
So you should write sigular verb such as 'is, means, writes'.
